Today
more and more people are becoming concerned with where the food
they eat comes from. A big movement for eating local makes this
easier to trace. There are so many reasons for eating local and
each person may be on board for one or all of these reasons. .
Eating local cuts down our carbon footprint. As big food scares
are traced to factory farming; eating local and knowing the origin
of your food makes more sense. Treatment of animals and laborers
is of concern to many.
The fun and delicious part may be what attracts even more people.
Food is fresher, tastier and more nutritious. Working with local
farmers and farmers market brings a sense of community that our
busy world has taken further away.
Chef/owner, Linda Jacobs early days of cooking started at the same
time she had her first vegetable garden. Nothing is more rewarding
to her than putting a seed in the ground and following each step
which ends in placing a plate in front of an ecstatic guest.
The movement for local sustainable foods and local farmers markets
is bringing this passion to reality. Soup to Nuts concentrates on
cooking and making your party perfect. Starting with just picked
produce, conscientiously raised meats and dairy of local farmers
enables Soup to Nuts to prepare food at its very best.
